Slip-ups, swearing and shimmies: The Project NZ releases blooper reel to celebrate 1000 shows

The Project NZ celebrated its 1000th show on Tuesday night, sharing a never-before-seen blooper reel with some of the funniest slip-ups from the past four years.

Presenters Kanoa Lloyd, Jesse Mulligan and Jeremy Corbett were joined by Australian broadcaster Rove McManus, who also joined the show's first ever episode in 2017.

"Congratulations you guys, 1000 episodes, well done. They're very professional everybody, but sometimes things do stuff up," McManus said.

"Even with a live show, there are elements that don't make it to air, and I wanted everyone to see some of the times where things didn't go quite as planned. You're welcome."

Notable quotes from the reel included Kanoa Lloyd accidentally calling National Party leader Judith Collins "Judas Collins" and Jesse Mulligan telling the audience: "Make some noise if you're keen to see your parents naked!"

Elsewhere in their thousandth show, the team looked back at more notable moments, including Jeremy Corbett's stand up set delivered entirely in te reo Māori.
