Former Disney star Kyle Massey is reportedly facing a felony charge for allegedly sending sexually explicit material to a 13-year-old girl.

Massey - who played Cory Baxter on the hit show That's So Raven - has been hit with one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes, according to TMZ.

In 2019, the now 29-year-old former child star was sued for US$1.5 million for allegedly sending sexually explicit texts, images and videos via Snapchat, but Massey denied the claims, insisting he was being extorted.

"No child should ever be exposed to sexually explicit materials and I unequivocally and categorically deny any alleged misconduct," Massey said via his lawyer at the time.

He also asked his fans "not to jump to conclusions based on the allegations alone but reserve judgment until the whole story comes to light, proving these allegations baseless".

TMZ reports this latest charge is connected to the civil suit from two years ago.

According to the celebrity gossip website, police began investigating the situation in early 2020. At that time they were reportedly given a USB drive by the girl's mother that allegedly contained the explicit material, which included a pornographic clip and a video of a man "who appears to be Massey'' exposing his genitals.

The girl's mother reportedly told authorities Massey had known her daughter since she was four years old.

Massey was scheduled to appear in court this week, but allegedly failed to show. He remains active on social media, sharing videos to his Instagram Story and last week uploading a series of images of himself with the caption: "In my life, I've lived, I've loved, I've lost, I've missed, I've hurt, I've trusted, I've made mistakes, but most of all, I’ve learned... Focus on your target."
