Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton self-isolating after COVID-19 contact

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is self-isolating after someone she came into contact with subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.

"Last week the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19," a spokesperson for Kensington Palace said.

"Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home."

The duchess, who has received both her COVID-19 jabs, began self-isolating on Friday for 10 days after being alerted that afternoon.

Middleton has now cancelled her engagements for the coming 10 days, BBC reported.

She had been due to attend an event on Monday (local time) at St Paul's Cathedral marking the 73rd anniversary of the National Health Service with her husband Prince William, but he arrived alone.
