Tiffany Haddish's fans send prayers after DUI arrest as she mourns Bob Saget and several more loved ones

Fans of Tiffany Haddish are praying for the comedian after she was arrested for driving drunk late last week while grieving the loss of her grandmother, her dog and two friends - one of whom was Bob Saget.

According to TMZ, the 'Girl's Trip' star was pulled over around 4am on Friday morning (US time) by police who were responding to reports of a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel.

Haddish was arrested for DUI and improper stopping on a roadway, with police reportedly also suspecting she had been smoking cannabis. The Emmy Award winner smiled for her mugshot, obtained by TMZ, and was released after a few hours when she posted US$1666 bond.

Fans of the star acknowledged that she was clearly struggling while mourning the death of several crucial people in her life, including her grandmother who raised her for much of her adolescence. Just a day after paying homage to Saget, she penned a tribute to her friend, music producer Carl Craig on Instagram, saying his loss "hurt a lot".

Haddish also split from rapper Common late last year, and went on to reveal she was "disappointed" about the way her ex had spoken publicly about the break up.

"We gone pray for Tiffany Haddish [sic]," one tweet from a fan read. "She recently lost her grandmother who raised her, her dog and two close friends."

"Exactly, positive prayers to help our sister in her time of life and lift her up!" wrote another.

Haddish burst into tears in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight while remembering her mentor and friend Bob Saget, who she first met as a teenager at a comedy camp.

"He was instantly a father figure to me," she said. "He was one of the few people, this white man, like, 'Be your best self. You're a strong Black woman, be that!'"

Haddish was candid about her emotional state, telling the interviewer: "Career-wise, I'm excellent, life-wise, I'm a damn mess." The comedian said her dog of 13 years who had recently died was "her heart", and the other people who had passed away were "her rocks".

"I'm going through some things over here," she continued. "My personal life is in shambles. This year people are like 'Happy New Year!' I'm like, no, neutral New Year. I'm gonna be neutral in the year."
