Kim Kardashian shows off the 'emo' artwork 8yo daughter North drew while she had COVID-19

Kim Kardashian has showcased her daughter North West's artwork in a new video tour of her home, leaving the internet stunned at the 8-year-old's talent and disturbed by one drawing in particular.

The reality TV star shared a range of work made by her daughter for Vogue's 'Objects of Affection' series, including a painting of a scenic landscape, a wolf and the family's pet bearded dragon.

But one of the young artist's pieces struck a decidedly different tone - a sinister-looking charcoal self-portrait drawn while North was isolating in her room.

"Recently North stayed home and had COVID, so this is her drawing that she did in her room. It's a charcoal. Maybe that was just her emo mood," Kardashian said of the work.

"I love seeing the personality and the moods and everything that she goes through and is feeling, it's really been an amazing hobby of hers."

Fans were amazed by North's "iconic" artistic talent, if a little surprised at the "dark" nature of the final artwork.

"For an 8-year-old, she's talented and yet disturbing," one Twitter user wrote.

"North's paintings started off cute and adorable but that last one was truly dark," said another.

"North's drawing she did during COVID definitely captures the mood, LMAO. It's impressive," a third wrote.

Last year, a furious Kardashian hit back at critics who didn't believe North had painted a detailed mountain scene shared to social media.

The claims enraged Kim, who fired back with a lengthy rant on her Instagram Story

"DON'T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN!" she exclaimed.

"My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured.

"North worked incredibly hard on her painting, which took several weeks to complete. As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone."

Referring to the authors of articles questioning the authenticity of North's artwork, Kim asked: "How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?"

"Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT. NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERDIOTDDDABCDEFGZFDT!"
