Foo Fighters cancel all scheduled concerts following death of drummer Taylor Hawkins

Foo Fighters have cancelled all planned upcoming concert dates following the sudden death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.

The 'Everlong' rockers had been scheduled to play in New Zealand in December, the Grammy Awards in the coming days and several dates through the year in North America and Europe.

Hawkins died in Colombia over the weekend aged 50 while on tour with the band.

"It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins," the band said in a statement.

"We're sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won't be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let's take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we've made together."

Foo Fighters were set to play Auckland's Western Springs and Wellington's Sky stadium. It's not yet been announced by local promoters how ticket holders will get refunds.
