The Terminal List trailer: Chris Pratt oozes intensity in gritty looking action thriller

A teaser trailer has been released for Prime Video's The Terminal List, a gritty action thriller starring Chris Pratt in what is described as the Avengers: Endgame star's darkest role yet.

Based on the novel by Jack Carr, the series follows Pratt as US Navy SEAL James Reece , the sole survivor of an entire platoon that is ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission.

According to the official synopsis, Reece returns home to his family with conflicting memories of the ambush and questions about his culpability. However, as new evidence comes to light, he discovers dark forces working against him - endangering not only his life but the lives of those he loves.

It's Pratt's first starring role in a series since Parks and Recreation finished in 2015. The Terminal List looks very different to that popular comedy, however - Reece is stern-faced and intense throughout the trailer, which also suggests he'll be dishing out some R-rated violence in the show, making it a far cry from Pratt's jovial Star-Lord role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Alongside Pratt, the cast also includes Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu, Jai Courtney, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Riley Keough, JD Pardo and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The eight-part series will be released on Prime Video, the Amazon owned streaming service, on July 1.
