Rob Ruha, Troy Kingi, Reb Fountain and Aldous Harding have been named as finalists in the 2022 Silver Scroll Awards.

The top 20 songs and top 5 Māori songs were unveiled on Thursday, along with the news of the return of a glitzy award event.

For the first time in three years, there will be a full-scale event at Auckland's Spark Arena on Tuesday October 18 to celebrate Aotearoa music, waiata, and composition.

Over 300 entries were assessed by the panel, before being whittled down to just 25 finalists.

APRA members are now being asked to vote for their top songs, which will determine the Silver Scroll Top 5 and Maioha Top 3 including the overall winners.
