US actress Anne Heche died after her life support was turned off, a week following her fiery car crash in LA, the Daily Mail reports.

The Six Days, Seven Nights star was taken off life support on Friday (local time) after being pronounced brain dead following the crash and subsequent fire.

"We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital," said a spokesperson for Heche's family and friends, as reported by Deadline.

The spokesperson earlier said Heche wasn't expected to survive.

"Anne had a huge heart and touched everyone she met with her generous spirit," the spokesperson told Deadline. "More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life's work - especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love. She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light."

Earlier, it was reported that the Another World star had cocaine and fentanyl in her system following the crash.

Heche's Mini Cooper crashed into a two-storey home in LA before igniting. Nearly 60 firefighters were needed to extinguish the blaze.
