Beyoncé is to remove samples of rapper Kelis from her new album Renaissance.
The Milkshake singer objected to use of the song in Energy on the new album, saying it was not a "collab" but "theft".
Posting on social media, Kelis said no one had reached out to her before the track, which was co-written by Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, was released.
"My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding," Kelis commented on a post announcing the use of the sample.
"I heard about this the same way everyone else did. Nothing is ever as it seems, some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled."
'Milkshake' was released in 2003.
Entertainment Weekly reported Beyoncé has started removing the samples from streaming platforms, with Apple and Tidal already having new versions of the song.
Spotify had yet to be changed, it said.
It's the second edit Beyoncé has had to make on the new album, which came out on Friday - less than a week ago.
The derogatory term, often used to demean people with spastic cerebral palsy, was used in a song co-written by Canadian rapper Drake.
"The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced," a spokeswoman for Beyoncé wrote in a statement to The Associated Press on Monday (local time).
