Jason Momoa 'so starstruck' after meeting All Blacks in Auckland

Aquaman star Jason Momoa says hanging out with the All Blacks in Auckland "blew my mind".

The actor posted photos of his meeting with past and present ABs on social media with a caption saying he was a "f***ing HUGE All Blacks fan" and thanking the sports stars for giving him signed jerseys.

The pictures show him embracing the likes of Tana Umaga, Caleb Clarke, Ardie Savea, Dane Coles, Richie Mo'unga, Ofa Tuungafasi, Rieko Ioane, Nepo Laulala and Tupou Vaa'i.

"If you know me, you know I'm a f**king HUGE All Blacks fan. [I was] so starstuck yesterday hanging with da boyz… [it] blew my mind," Momoa said on Monday.

"I'm still smiling. I'm so very thankful to have meet you all - mahalo for the signed jerseys and amazing memories.

"See you in the new year my brothers. Great to catch up."

The official All Blacks Instagram account returned the love by sharing further pictures of Momoa's visit and captioning it: "The people you run into in Auckland."

Ioane responded to Momoa's post with: "My USO," (Samoan for 'brother').

Meanwhile, the All Blacks players unavailable to meet Momoa lamented the missed opportunity to rub shoulders with the Hollywood star.

"I got here a bit late," halfback Aaron Smith said at a press conference on Monday.

"I saw him though - he's a very cool guy, and the boys said he was lovely.

"I was a bit gutted, I was in a bit of a rush. He was very high energy.

"He's really famous, so I was a bit scared."

Momoa is currently in Aotearoa as he starts in upcoming Apple TV Plus series Chief of War, which is being produced here.

Ahead of flying to New Zealand on Hawaiian Airlines last week to begin the filming, he debuted a massive tribal tattoo on the side of his head.

Earlier this month, the Game of Thrones actor - who was born in Hawaii - shaved the sides of his head and some of his signature long locks in an effort to draw attention to environmental causes.
