Piers Morgan slams Meghan Markle for branding herself a 'real-life princess'

UK broadcaster Piers Morgan has once again unleashed on Meghan Markle, this time blasting her for branding herself a "real-life princess".

During Friday's episode of his television series Piers Morgan Uncensored, he was joined by royal expert Valentine Low and UK journalists Isabel Oakeshott and Kevin Maguire to talk about Low's latest book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Crown.

The former Good Morning Britain host said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still act as if they're active royals, despite the pair stepping back from royal life nearly three years ago.

"She calls herself a princess … little girls who grow up to make a real princess," Morgan said.

"You're not a princess - she's not a princess anyway."

In an interview in August with The Cut, Meghan said it was important to be thoughtful about her royal status, even during her and her husband Prince Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.

"I was conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet and they're just like, 'Oh my God, it's a real-life princess'," she told the outlet.

"I just look at all of them and think, you have the power within you to create a life greater than any fairy tale you've ever read.

"I don't mean that in terms of, 'You could marry a prince one day'. I mean you can find love. You can find happiness. You can be up against what could feel like the greatest obstacle and then you can find happiness again."

Morgan continued in his rant about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by saying the couple's commercial interests lie in "trashing" the Royal Family and claims they are capitalising on their titles only for fame and money.

"I'm from Sussex. I've spent more time in Sussex than Meghan and Harry have in the last two weeks," Morgan said.

"They trade off 'Duke and Duchess of Sussex', 'the royals' to make themselves incredibly rich."

Morgan's comments came after he told Low the situation with Meghan and Harry is a "mess" and King Charles will "have to deal with it".

"It certainly is a mess," Low agreed.

"I think their woke homilies have a market in the States that they don't have here and trashing the Royal Family, even in the States people are beginning to get bored with that I think."

Oakeshott asked how their situation will end and what Low's prediction is, with herself saying she believes that Harry will come back to the United Kingdom with his "tail between his legs". But Low disagreed, saying the pair's two children, Archie and Lilibet, would be staying in the United States, where the family currently lives.

"He's a great father, I'm convinced of that. He's always been terrific with children," Low said.

"So while [Meghan] has breath in her body, those kids will remain in the States and therefore Harry will too."
