The Block NZ presenter Mark Richardson has revealed he once ditched a former fiancée while he was travelling in the UK several years ago.
He made the shocking revelation on The Project as the hosts discussed a story about a British backpacker who'd ditched their Canadian travel buddy at a campsite in Australia.
The pair had met online and agreed to split the cost of renting a campervan for the trip, but things quickly went south, leading to the break-up.
"I may have had a slight separation in England," Richardson told a shocked looking Josh Thomson.
"My fiancée at the time said that she was going to go to London and I said, 'If you do, I may just go home'. She went to London and I got on the next flight home."
While his co-hosts looked appalled, Richardson sheepishly said he was "not proud".
"You ditched your fiancée?" Jesse Mulligan said incredulously.
"Ouch," Amanda Gillies said. "But there was a silver lining because you got upgraded," she asked.
"Yeah I got married to someone else," Richardson laughed.
"I got upgraded to first class so you gotta feel happy, don't you?" he said.
