The woman who took Prince Harry's virginity in an alleged quickie in a field behind an English pub says the Duke of Sussex is "not the boy I remember".
Sasha Walpole appeared on the latest episode of talk show Piers Morgan Uncensored after months of speculation over her identity sparked by Harry mentioning the incident in his tell-all memoir Spare.
The Duke of Sussex was still a student at Eton College in Windsor when he claims he had sex for the first time in a field in 2001. He didn't name the woman in the book, saying only it was a "humiliating episode with an older woman who liked macho horses and who treated me like a young stallion".
"I mounted her quickly, after which she spanked my ass and sent me away," he wrote.
Walpole was hired as an assistant groom at Highgrove in 1999, which is where she first met the young prince. She said she had been forced to come forward after Prince Harry's team failed to warn her that she'd been written about.
"People are asking, family and friends. We know who it is, and then suddenly it's just a reality of 'this isn't going to go away'," she told Morgan.
"Forever this is going to flare up. Until they know who it is, they're going to be questioning people. And yes, I could not have said anything but then it's never going to stop," the Independent newspaper reported her as saying.
Morgan also asked Walpole if Harry seemed happy to her.
"He's not the boy I remember, that's for sure," she said.
"But again I'm not in his shoes, I have no idea what's going on in his head, I haven't seen him for 21 years," the mother of two said.
When asked if Harry had "traded up or down" by marrying Meghan Markle, Walpole laughed and said: "Definitely down."
Walpole had previously revealed to The Mail on Sunday the sexual liaison was brief and intense and had come about as she'd been upset about an ex.
"He started to kiss me," she told The Mail on Sunday. "It was passionate, intense. We both knew. It went from a kiss on to the floor pretty quickly.
"It was instant, fiery, wham bam, between two friends. It was sparky because we shouldn't have been doing it. He wasn't 'Prince Harry' to me, this was Harry, my friend, and the situation had got a little bit out of control. It felt naughty, I suppose, in the sense that it shouldn't be happening."
Morgan's 30 minute interview with Walpole was posted to YouTube on Friday morning (NZ time).
