Prince Harry to discuss dealing with mental health issues in upcoming livestream talk

Prince Harry is set to talk about his experience with mental health issues in an upcoming livestreamed talk that will cost $53 per ticket.

The Duke of Sussex will speak to Canadian author Dr Gabor Maté this weekend, where people will be able to ask Prince Harry questions.

Publisher Penguin Random House said on its website tickets for the event are US$33.09 (NZ$53.71) and will also include a copy of Harry's memoir Spare.

According to New York Post, Maté said both he and Prince Harry have been open about their struggles with mental health.

"I think a discussion of loss, trauma and healing is of interest to people at all levels of society," Maté said.

As well as being an author, the New York Post reported Maté is also an advocate for alternative medicines, including using the plant Ayahuasca to treat mental health issues.

In 2011, Maté was threatened by officials to be arrested if he didn't stop using the plant to treat his patients, the Daily Mail UK reported.

The one-hour live stream event will begin at 12pm on Saturday (6am Sunday NZT).
