How to buy Taylor Swift: Eras World Tour general tickets when they go on sale

There is likely to be more chaos online on Friday afternoon as thousands of New Zealand and Australian fans battle it out for the last general tickets on sale for Taylor Swift's Eras World Tour shows Down Under.

Here's what you need to know about ticket sales and times.

The shows

Extra dates have been added for the February 2024 dates in Melbourne and Sydney.

All tickets to all seven of the shows go on sale on Friday, with pre-sales having been quickly sold out on Wednesday in both cities.

Sydney shows

The shows at Sydney's Accor Stadium take place on February 23, 24, 25 and 26. They are the first shows to go on sale online at Ticketek's Australia site with tickets to all four shows up for grabs from 10am AEST, which is 12pm in New Zealand.

They will remain for sale until the allocation is exhausted. Accor has a capacity of 83,500.

Melbourne shows

The shows dates at Melbourne's Cricket Ground (the MCG) are February 16, 17 and 18.

They go on sale from 2pm AEST, which is 4pm in New Zealand.

The stadium capacity at the MCG is over 100,000.

The tickets

These are on sale from Ticketek's Australian website and will require you to have an account and be logged in for the best results.

Ticket sales are limited to four per person.

The site operates a ticket lobby, with the company insisting on Thursday it was a "fair" system for everyone with prospective punters picked at random to be able to choose their tickets.

The cost

Ticket prices range from AU$79.90 to AU$379.90.

VIP packages begin at AU$349.90 for the We Never Go Out of Style Package, which includes an E reserve ticket. The most expensive tickets are just under AU$1250 - that's for the It's Been a Long Time Coming Package, which includes an A reserve ticket.

What's the best way to get tickets

Scoring tickets is largely down to luck, with many fans roping in family members and partners as well as work colleagues to help try to secure them.

Kiwi Stella Grigg from Wellington got tickets on Wednesday and told AM co-hosts Ryan Bridge and Laura Tupou on Thursday she had seven separate Ticketek accounts opened via a network of friends.

Ticketek advice

Don't close or refresh your browser - sit tight and wait to be let through to the buying page. The page refreshes frequently to automatically let more fans through to purchase and make the purchase process as smooth as possible.

Once you're through, watch the timer in the top right-hand corner of your browser and complete your purchase within the time frame.

Have your Ticketek account details and credit card ready as you'll need these to complete your purchase.

You should only buy from the official Ticketek website - make sure you're not inadvertently using Viagogo or another resale site used by scalpers, as purchasing from those may not give you access to the concert, despite the exorbitant costs.
