The first artists for the 2023 - 2024 Northern Bass festival have been revealed and includes drum and bass legends Goldie, Sub Focus, Netsky and Dillinja.

The three-day event is to once again take place in Kaiwaka, just outside of Mangawhai, north of Auckland.

Lee Mvtthews, Jess B, Black Sun Empire, Calibre, Montell2099 and State of Mind are also among the first acts announced.

The festival takes place from December 29, 2023 and runs through to January 1, 2024.

Some two and three day passes for the event have already sold out via pre-sales and a first release, but a second release of tickets is now underway.

Festival director Gareth Popham is hoping for a "good run" of festivals in summer after this year's season was affected by bad weather across the motu.

"It has been a hard few years for the music industry and for the regions we are all lucky to call home," said Popham.

"Northern Bass was lucky to be one of the only sold out festivals to take place last summer. We are hoping for a good run for all New Zealand's summer festivals and for our regions this year!"
