Police officers have searched a home in Las Vegas on Monday (local time) as part of the long-unsolved murder case of rapper Tupac Shakur.

In a statement reported by US media, Las Vegas police confirmed "a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation".

"We will have no further comment at this time."

The 'California Love' rapper was shot multiple times in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. The shooting took place as the 25-year-old rapper was leaving a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.

He was in a BMW with Suge Knight, the boss of his label Death Row Records, when it happened.

Shakur was hit four times, including once in the chest.

He died six days later from his injuries aged just 25.

No arrests have ever been made in the case.

During his brief career, Shakur sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
