Kylie Minogue says she was "taken aback" to hear a new series of Neighbours is on the way after she appeared in the show's finale in 2022.
Speaking to The Project NZ to promote her 16th album, Minogue said she did all she could to make her guest appearance with Jason Donovan in the soap's finale in July 2022.
The show was dropped by its British broadcaster, leaving the co-production with Australia unable to continue.
It has since been resurrected and is now shown on Amazon's streaming service Prime Video.
When asked by Jeremy Corbett if she felt her cameo was spoiled by the return of the series, Minogue said: "Not spoiled but I think everyone was slightly taken aback.
"A lot of us did what we could to take part even in the smallest way to just acknowledge the history of Neighbours, the love, the careers we've all started on that show.
"Then the news it was coming back - I don't think I was alone with the [reaction of] 'huh'?"
