Bindi Irwin, the daughter of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, has revealed her endometriosis was so painful during her pregnancy she thought she would suffer a miscarriage.

Speaking on US TV show Good Morning America, Irwin teared up while publicly discussing her endometriosis diagnosis for the first time and her life after having had surgery for it.

"Along my pregnancy journey. I would often have times where I thought I was miscarrying because I would have severe unexplained pain," she told the show.

"I would think that I was losing our beautiful daughter.

"I was tested for cancer, I had MRIs, I had ultrasounds, I had CT scans, just you name it. I was checked for everything.

"The scariest thing was there were no answers," she emotionally said.

In March this year, she candidly admitted she suffered with pain, nausea and "insurmountable" fatigue for over a decade, saying the last 10 years have been peppered with numerous tests, scans and appointments.

She told her social media followers at the time she is among the roughly one in 10 women who suffer from the incapacitating condition endometriosis, in which the tissue that typically lines the uterus grows outside of the womb.

She also revealed the toll it had taken on her since the pain began when she was 14 years old.

"I had pain every single day of my life. Suddenly, no matter where we went, where we were going, I would be falling asleep. I felt like I constantly had the flu,” she wrote in March.

“We tried and tried and tried for years and years and years, and finally, a doctor told me it was just part of being a woman.

“And that’s when I gave up. I stopped looking for answers."

Irwin has one child, a one-year-old daughter named Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, with her husband Chandler Powell. She and Powell wed in 2020.
