Prince William reveals his favourite emoji, told he has a 'dirty mind'

Prince William has revealed his favourite emoji, but only after asking the presenters "is this a clean thing or is this a family one" interview, suggesting a soft spot for the notorious eggplant symbol.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 on Thursday, hosts Jordan North and Vick Hope asked the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall about their online conversations.

"We would love to know, what's your most used emojis?" Hope asked.

"Is this a clean thing or is this a family one?" the future King asked, before revealing: "I've been told not to say the aubergine, so I've got to pick something else."

"It would have been the aubergine, but now I am saying - because I've got to be a little grown up - it's the one where the eyes go up and down and the mouth's out."

His wife Kate was a little more demure, telling the hosts: "It's got to be the heart, then the crying emoji, the sort of like hysterical laughing when things go wrong."

However, the hosts were stunned by the Duke's candid admission.

"He said the aubergine emoji, this is brilliant," said North after the interview.

His colleague was more forthright in her examination of the Prince's confession, reportedly saying: "He knows. He's got a dirty mind."

Elsewhere in the interview, William also confessed he was unable to enjoy spicy food.

"I can't do too much spice, I start sweating. It's not attractive," he said.

But his wife added that she had different tastes.

"Whereas I like the spice so I have to sort of cook the curry and then add the extra spice at the end."

"[Kate] has to bring it in gently because otherwise I get too sweaty. It's not a nice sight," the Prince added.
