A steamy photoshoot of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez has been widely mocked across social media.
In the photos, captured for Vogue magazine, Bezos - in a yellow pick-up truck - is seen wearing a cowboy hat, denim jeans and a tight black T-shirt, complete with bulging left bicep.
Meanwhile, Sanchez is pictured with a plain white singlet while staring off into the distance.
It seems innocent enough, but commentators were left unimpressed, with some wondering - "why?"
"I've never been more uncomfortable with a photo," one said.
"Why do they look like background actors in a telenovela," said another.
Bezos and Sanchez began dating in 2019. Bezos was previously married to novelist and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, and Sanchez to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell.
In the recent article with Vogue, Sanchez claims she almost "blacked out a bit" when Bezos proposed to her with a pink diamond engagement ring while onboard his US$500 million yacht.
Sanchez, an avid Instagram user, wished Bezos a happy birthday in a post in January, calling him "the man of her dreams".
"Happy birthday to the man of my dreams, who lights up my world with his laughter and kind heart. You have shown me that no great love is not bravely fought for.
"I am so grateful for the memories we have made and the adventures yet to come. Here's to many more birthdays filled with love and laughter," she wrote.
Bezos responded with, "I love you, babe."
Despite wedding bells in the air, Sanchez says there are no definite plans at this stage.
