Andre Braugher, who played the uptight Captain Holt in the comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has died.
Braugher was 61 years old.
He also gained critical success with his role as Detective Frank Pembleton in the US police series Homicide: Life on the Street.
His death was confirmed by his publicist, Variety reported.
US publication People reported Braugher had been suffering from a "recent illness", but didn't specify what it was.
Braugher is survived by his wife and three children.
