Florence Pugh has been struck in the eye by an object while promoting the upcoming release of Dune: Part Two in Brazil.
Video circulating on social media showed Pugh posing for photos with co-stars Austin Butler, Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya when she was hit.
It was not clear who threw the unknown object from within the crowd.
Fans took to social media after the footage went viral, expressing their disgust at Pugh being struck.
"This disturbing trend of throwing harmful objects at artists, actors & actresses needs to stop!" one wrote on X.
"Florence Pugh got hit in the eye and that could have severely damaged her vision!" another said.
"That almost took Florence Pugh's eye out. WTF is wrong with people? Someone nearly blinded Florence Pugh in one eye."
The Black Widow actress had been speaking on a panel about the film, which releases in 2024.
"I had an amazing time coming in and just hanging around with these people, let alone actually getting to work with them," Pugh said.
"Coming in here - the power in this room - is because of that first movie, and we felt that when we went on set every single day. So it feels really, really special being here with the second one."
Dune: Part Two is due for release in March 2024.
