A Sydney stadium appears to have changed tack after initially telling a dad attending a Pink concert he would have to purchase a full-price ticket for his nine-week-old baby.

The anonymous ticketholder told 7News.com.au that he initially approached Accor Stadium to see whether he would be allowed to bring a nappy bag to Saturday night's concert, as bag sizes are restricted.

In the message, he also double-checked his daughter wouldn't need a ticket.

He was told by the stadium the nappy bag would be fine but that all attendees must have a ticket, regardless of age.

The man had purchased the tickets for $180 each for his family in early 2023 and had not anticipated they would have a newborn with them at the time.

"We found it disgraceful that a baby had to purchase a ticket when they were going to be in a baby carrier or on my sister's chest," he said.

The man said his entire extended family was attending the concert and had no one to leave her with.

The event was sold out when the man was told his nine-week-old daughter would need a ticket.

After expressing his surprise at the prospect of paying for a ticket for a nine-week-old that wouldn't be able to sit, let alone see the stage, an Accor Stadium representative told the man "that is correct and the age policy for this show set by the promotor".

After the man approached 7NEWS.com.au with the story, Accor changed their tune.

The stadium will now allow the baby free entry to Saturday's show and the man's family has even been provided with upgraded seats and parking closer to the stadium.

The man has acknowledged the incident was a mistake on Accor's part but feels it was only resolved after he went to the media.

Accor states on its website that for "most sporting events very young children, 3 and under, may be admitted free-of-charge on the provision they are accompanied by an adult and will share their seat and sit on their knee".

However, they do not specify their policy for concerts online and encourage attendees to check the ticketing page upon purchase.

The concertgoer is sure Pink "wouldn't be happy about this issue".
