The Mountain director Rachel House and tween stars stoked with Taranaki Maunga movie

After a world premiere in Taranaki and a whirlwind promotional tour across the motu, the young stars of Kiwi film Te Maunga / The Mountain are stoked to see their new film in front of hometown audiences.

We know her as "no child left behind" Paula from Hunt for the Wilderpeople, we know her as staunch as Topaz from Thor: Ragnarok, we also know her as the voice of Gramma Tala from Moana; but now the award-winning Kiwi creative Rachel House stepped behind the camera to direct her first feature film.

The Mountain follows three children on a mission to find healing under the watchful eye of Taranaki Maunga.

I sat down to chat with House and the three lead actors - Elizabeth Atkinson, Reuben Francis and Terence Daniel - as the film opens in cinemas.
