Wendy's employees find live mouse inside sealed bag of burger buns

Wendy's employees in the United States have shared their disgust after finding a live mouse inside a sealed bag of burger buns.

Staff at the chain restaurant in northeast Oklahoma took video footage when they discovered the rodent wriggling inside the plastic wrapping.

The workers claim this wasn't the first time they'd seen mice in the kitchen, but their manager had always remained unfazed.

"She told me, 'Just take a new rack and get the buns underneath.' That was just disgusting because last time there was rat faeces, it was dribbling underneath every other rack," employe Samantha Niebelink told local television station KJRH.

Recently, cigarette butts were also found in the kitchen.

In a statement, a Wendy's spokesperson told KJRH the claims are being investigated and taken very seriously.

"Nothing is more important than the safety of our employees and customers," the statement said.
