Meet Australia's hottest burger - Burger Urge's Double Decker Death Wish.

It's a burger so hot it needs to be cooked using goggles and gloves for the staffs' protection.

"We have to take special precautions when we prep it - that alone tells me someone's in for a treat," Burger Urge Molendinar manager, Dana Bradshaw told 9NEWS.

Eating it can be so dangerous that customers are asked to sign a waiver before attempting it. They're also provided with their own goggles and gloves.

"It's legitimately the hottest burger in Australia. Those ghost chillies are no joke," Burger Urge managing director Sean Carthew says.

"It certainly separates the men from the boys," Ms Bradshaw adds.

The burger gets its fiery blast from habaneros and ghost chillies, along with a secret hot sauce. If you can get past the heat, the burger also comes with two Angus beef patties, maple bacon, cheese, pickles, jalapeños, tomato and lettuce.

It is available at all 26 Burger Urge stores until Friday.
