It's often said that the consumption of avocados comes at the detriment of financial flexibility, but for 1000 participants in the US, eating avocados will be an income for six months.

Researchers from four American universities are looking to pay people to eat avocados for six months.

The study is being called the 'Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial' and will be used to find out whether avocados actually help weight loss.

Avocados possess a lot of heart-healthy fats that help cholesterol, but there are concerns whether the high fat content can help people lose weight.

The study will assess whether eating one avocado per day will help reduce fat in the abdomen.

The universities are looking for 250 participants each to either eat one avocado per day, or two per month.

You'll have to take two MRI abdominal scans and attend monthly dietary meetings, but at the end of it you'll be paid $300 and receive 24 avocados to consume at your own discretion.
