Kiwi duo invent new undies that help manage periods

  • 28/09/2018

Two Kiwi women have created a new sustainable way to manage periods -  a pair of nifty knickers that do the work of two tampons.

Friends Michelle Wilson and Kylie Matthews are behind the wonder product and say the undies feel just like normal.

The undies are made up of four layers of bamboo fabric.

"Not only have they been lab tested but we have our local wahine to test them out and they absolutely work," Ms Wilson says.

And they want to help combat New Zealand's period poverty as well as create a budding business.

Five percent of the profits of sales go to domestic abuse charity Shine

"We really want to help those woman and girls who often leave home with nothing but the clothes on their back," Ms Matthews says.

You can contribute to their kickstarter here.
