Another food delivery service has launched in New Zealand - and this one is promising to bring nutritious, chef-prepared meals into your own home.

FED delivers pre-prepared meals designed by Kiwi chef and mum of two Beckie Pilley, to Auckland residents.

Unlike several other food delivery services available in New Zealand which operate off a set menu system, the weekly food service allows customers to mix and match their meals from a menu of 15 dishes for adults, four sides and four kids' meals.

Meals include Island Style Pork Belly and Beef and Pumpkin Rendang. They all come ready to heat and eat in fully compostable packaging.

The site also offers an 'on the go' option, if you need something more flexible.

The main drawcard for many parents may be that in a first for a Kiwi food delivery business, they also have 'Yum Squad' range of kids meals, including teriyaki chicken and crumbed chicken fingers on cheesy risotto.

FED co-founder and director Becky Erwood said: "As a busy working mum I've long been frustrated at the lack of good convenience meal options. Our research has shown that Kiwis are crying out for meal solutions that give us less time in the kitchen and more time with our family."

Erwood says FED has been created to give Kiwis a brand-new way of putting good food on the table, without the stress of meal time prep.

"Imagine coming home to a freshly prepared meal that you haven't had to cook? FED has been designed to take away the daily grind of food preparation without having to resort to dialling a takeaway."

The start-up adds to an already strong market of food delivery options in Auckland, including Fit Food, Art Green's Plate Up service and My Food Bag's Heat 2 Cook 2.
