If you've recently won lotto, inherited a fortune or sold up a bunch of assets, the perfect slice of paradise to snap up has become available.

Imagine landing on your own airstrip before jumping in your boat and catching a feast of kaimoana from just off your own back yard. After enjoying that with something to wash it down from the cellar, you go on a stroll on one of the many walking tracks that emphasises the location's stunning beauty.

The Point at Opito is a 35.9ha private coastal property with breath-taking views on the Coromandel Peninsula.

"It's got a really nice, peaceful, isolated feeling. Walking around the land it feels expansive, but also very private," says Ross Christensen, Rural Sales Specialist at Colliers International.

"You're surrounded by a mix of salty sea air and fresh farmland."

He reckons as impressive as the photos are, they don't express just how good it feels to be there.

And the photos are very, very impressive.

The hills are covered in grass that has that specific lush green you only get in the North Island, with ancient volcanic rocks and plateaus scattered about.

For some Kiwis, it's the attraction of one of the Coromandel's most untouched beaches that'll be the greatest drawcard here.

"The beach has great fishing, perfect for taking the boat out. It's also a very safe beach, there's no rips or steep drops, so you would be comfortable taking your kids for a swim there," says Mr Christensen.

Driving to The Point at Opito from Auckland, Tauranga or Hamilton will take you around three hours. Once there, popping to Whitianga will take 30 minutes.

A private agriculture airstrip exists on site, but there's plenty of room to add a helicopter pad.

The property comes with resource consent for a 700m2 bunker style dwelling, together with an additional consent to subdivide the block into two lots.

  • Lot 1 will consist of 34.93ha and contain a 5ha conservation area
  • Lot 2 of 0.99ha allows for another dwelling to be erected which overlooks Whaorei Bay (Sarah's Gully Beach)

Chances like this don't come up very often. Of course, for most of us, buying a property such as this is but a dream - but for someone out there, it's a dream that's about to come true.
