How competitive eater Jesse Freeman stays ripped while eating monstrous meals

He can scoff more than 5kg of food in one sitting, but at 100kg and only 8 percent body fat, Jesse 'Food Coma' Freeman doesn't look like a competitive eater.

The food blogger can consume 30,000 calories in one day, 10,000 calories in one sitting and was one of three gorgers to smash through 16kg of burgers, fries, milkshakes and ice cream in 39 minutes earlier in the year.

The Sydney-based world record holder pro eater is now one of Australian's top-ranked eaters, and got into gouging down huge meals through his gym and intermittent fasting.

"I totally believe in the fact that you can out-train a diet - but it takes hard work, sweat, and discipline," Freeman told Newshub.

"I work out with weights six days a week, high volume with 6-10 reps of large compound movements, supersetting my movements with others every set and doing drop sets at the end of each group of supersets. See what I mean with hard work?

"Sometimes I do two sessions a day, depending how much I eat. Every session goes for a minimum one-and-a-half hours," he said.

"Cardio once a week too - you have to look after your heart. I do three day split, arms and shoulders, chest and back, as well as legs and abs twice a week."

The 24-year-old, who was named as one of Australia's 30 hottest blokes competing for the Cosmopolitan Bachelor of the Year 2018, prepares for competitions by eating large quantities of vegetables and drinking litres of water.

"I'll usually eat 4kg-plus of veggies the day before a challenge, then drink water 'til my stomach can't fit any more. It can be brutal."

"Burgers, pancakes, loaded fries, acai bowls, and more burgers. Usually three to four dishes at each meal, but not eating all of it, at least trying it.

"I usually wake up at 6am, go to the gym, then hit my first stop which is usually a café where I will have breakfast foods, and sometimes pancakes.

"Then the rest of the day is a combination of burger venues, lunch venues and cafes."

Freeman says his biggest challenge was taking on the "world's biggest English breakfast," dispersing over 5.2kg of food.

There are not many foods he steers clear of, explaining that to eat everything is "part of the job" - although Freeman will admit he isn't a "huge fan" of raw tomato.

When asked to choose the best feed he's had, four come to mind.

"The milky lane 20kg challenge, the 10,000-calorie cheat meal, my 30,000-calorie cheat day and the May the 4th Special at Burger Point," he said.

The former surf instructor makes money various ways, including working with brands to promote their food and events, posting videos to his YouTube account and winning prize money from competitions.
