'A New Zealand first': Fashion show held at top of the Sky Tower

  • 13/02/2019

A fashion show was held at the top of the Sky Tower on Wednesday, in a first for the New Zealand fashion industry.

Among the designers that had their clothes strutted around the 192m-tall Skywalk - which made for a makeshift catwalk - were WORLD, Trelise Cooper,  Kathryn Wilson and Jill Humphries.

The outfits were donned by some of the biggest names in the social media influencer world, including Simone Anderson, Carena West and TV star Shavaughn Ruakere.

The show was in promotion of Auckland Cup Week, and Graham Trubuhovich, Auckland General Manager at AJ Hackett Bungy, said it was delighted to host the event.

"Today's racewear fashion show marks a first for New Zealand and for SKYWALK. It is great to see a new initiative like this for Auckland Cup Week and we are proud of all the models who are brave enough to participate in the SKYWALK.

"We were delighted that we could play host to the launch of Auckland Cup Week and it’s been fabulous to preview some of the looks that are likely to be on show."

Auckland Cup Week will be hosted at Ellerslie Racecourse on March 2 and 9.
