The condom cleaning hack that's gone viral

A UK mum caused a stir online with a bizarre cleaning hack - using a condom to get those taps sparkling.

The woman shared the trick in Facebook group called 'Hinch Army Cleaning Tips', set up in honour of cleaning sensation and Instagram star Mrs Hinch.

Writing that her taps were covered in soap scum, she knew she needed to soak them, but had "no plastic bags or balloons lying around".

What she did have were "loads of free condoms".

"I wasn't sure how well it would work but I'm so impressed!" she wrote in the group.

"The taps haven't been like this since I moved in."

The key is to fill the condom with white vinegar, leaving it over the tap overnight.

"[There's] no scrubbing after just used a sponge to wipe."

Other cleaning fans in the group were inspired to share their own version of the hack, including one mother who used a leftover Christmas balloon.

The group was inspired by Sophie Hinchcliffe, known to her two million followers as Mrs Hinch.

Earlier this month a cleaning hack of Hinchcliffe's went viral: cleaning carpets with a $5 window squeegee.
