As a red-blooded Kiwi, Josh Thomson loves nothing more than birthdays and bargains.
So when he turned 38 last Friday, The Project host went in search of the best "free on your birthday" deals.

Thomson refuelled with free goodies from Burger Fuel and Subway, and then explored the underwater kingdom of Kelly Tarlton's, where sadly the penguins weren't particularly excited about his special day.
He polished off a buffet meal at iconic chain restaurant Valentine's and finally, full of free food, enjoyed a solo jetboat ride in Auckland Harbour.
He realised he'd bitten off more than he could chew when he vomited over the side, but after the cost-free day of celebrations, he's already thinking about plans for his 39th.
