Smartphone cameras are getting better and better, and with the latest models we see the latest developments to the camera function.

Newer models of the iPhone have a function called 'Live Photo', which captures a second of moving imagery when you take a photo, the phone then choosing what it thinks is the best frame from that second.

But sometimes the phone gets it wrong and there's a way to manually choose the image displayed in a Live Photo. It'll help make sure your snaps are exactly how you want them to be.

Find the perfect shot in a Live Photo

If you're photographing in the Live Photo function and aren't happy with the shot the phone is displaying in the Photo Library, you can change it.

Open the Live Photo you want to change, tap 'edit', move the slider to select a new frame, release your finger and tap 'make key photo' then tap 'done'.

IPhones are full of hacks to help make the user experience easier, how many of these do you know?

Access the calculator faster

If you need to crunch some numbers stat there's a way to use the calculator without having to search for the app itself.

By swiping right over the home screen, lock screen or while looking at notifications you can type in any easy sum into the search bar and your phone will give you the answer straight away.

Undo typing quickly

iPhones have a function called shake to undo, for when you type out a whole sentence then have second thoughts.

To delete the whole message in an instant simply shake your phone and click the 'undo typing' button.

Shake to undo works on almost all apps that have a typing function.

Make one-handed typing easier

IPhones have a special setting for one-handed keyboard, making it even easier to type with one hand, so you don't have to put down your coffee.

The special keyboard can be accessed in settings general keyboards  then tap 'One Handed Keyboard'.
