Man's desperate plea for advice after matching with wife on Tinder

A Reddit user is asking for advice after matching with his wife on Tinder.

Last week, Reddit user TinderMarriageThrow posted on the website asking for advice after matching with his wife on the dating application while she was on supposedly on a business trip.

He recounted initially meeting his wife three years on Tinder, falling in love and getting married. They've now been married for more than 14 months - "quite happily", he added.

But trouble arose after she left for a week-long business trip about a month ago and he found himself downloading Tinder on "a particularly lonely night".

"I don't even know why. I didn't have any intentions. But I did it," he wrote.

"I swiped here and there and got pretty bored with it. It was a funny reminder of that time of my life. I deleted it and moved on."

But last Monday, his wife left for another business trip and the man found himself again on Tinder for a "laugh".

He admitted getting bored of it until a picture of his wife popped up - it was of them both, but he was cropped out.

"I decided to make a bold move and swipe right. I swiped and we matched."

The stunned man told Reddit his wife would soon return from her business trip and he wants to confront her - but how does he explain being on Tinder?

Reddit users had a ball with the story, criticising the man for being on the dating app, and suggesting he and his wife were a "good match".

"They're soulmates they were always meant to be," one said. "She prob downloaded Tinder on a particularly lonely night. She didn't even know why. She didn't have any intentions. But she did it," another joked.

The poster did reply to a comment to say he knows he shouldn't have been on the application, but hasn't posted since.

It's unknown what happened when his wife returned home.
