Krispy Kreme release Simpsons-themed 'D'ohnut'

Krispy Kreme stores in Auckland have dropped a new doughnut that pays homage to Homer Simpson himself.

Combining two of our favourite things - doughnuts and long-running cartoon The Simpsons - the chain has just released their aptly named 'D'ohnut', made out of Krispy Kreme's original glazed doughnut and topped with strawberry-flavoured white chocolate truffle and sprinkles.

Antonio Rivera, Krispy Kreme New Zealand Retail Manager says they're "incredibly excited" about the release.

"It tastes just as good as you’ve imagined for all those years!” he promises.

The sweet treat will be initially sold in a bespoke Homer Simpson box and will be available for a limited time at Manukau, Chancery Square, Auckland Airport Krispy Kreme stores as well as some BP stations between Warkworth and Taupo.

But get in quick - it's only out for a limited time. Extra points if you get one and take it down to Springfield in the South Island, and eat it in front of their giant doughnut.
