Run don't walk: 50,000 free cheeseburgers today at McDonald's

If you're craving a burger for breakfast, you best get down to McDonald's quick: the fast food outlet is giving 50,000 Kiwis the chance to grab a cheeky cheeseburger on the house.

Only available until the burgers run out on Tuesday, customers must download the McDonald's app and sign in to claim the deal.

"We're all about sharing the love here at McDonald's New Zealand and know that Kiwis love the legendary cheeseburger," says McDonald's NZ Director of Marketing Jo Mitchell.

"So we thought we'd give people what they want to satisfy those cravings."

The Macca's cheeseburger consists of a beef patty, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard and cheese, inside a bun.

But get in quick, the deal is only available until midnight.

It's been a month for freebies. Last week Auckland and Christchurch drivers caused traffic gridlock after two BP outlets announced they were giving away free fuel for an hour.
