Move over bridezilla, enter a bridesmaid-rex.

A US woman has captured international attention after donning a unique bridesmaid's outfit for her sister's weeding - a giant T-rex costume.

Christina Meador told The Daily Mail she decided on the idea after her sister said the bridesmaids could wear whatever they wanted to her wedding.

"I was trying to think of something that I would be willing to wear more than once and thought to myself, 'Well, she did say anything, and if I'm spending more than $50, I want it to be a dinosaur costume, because they're fantastic and I've always wanted one," she explained.

Christina shared a photo from the big day on Facebook, which has since racked up more than 34,000 shares and 17,000 comments.

"When you're maid of honour and told you can wear anything you choose ... I regret nothing," she captioned the picture.

It certainly blows the converse sneakers a fellow bridesmaid was wearing out of the water.

But for those concerned that the bride would be upset - don't worry. Meador says she checked in with her sister before the big day.

"I sent her a text so that she could have a laugh - surprisingly she was okay with it!"

Facebook commenters also saw the funny side, with many tagging in soon-to-be-wed friends and threatening to do the same.

"I wouldn’t even be mad. That’s golden," one person wrote.

"Oh man, I wish someone would let me do this!" chipped in another.

"I would pay to have a maid of honour that would wear a T-rex costume to my wedding," commented another.
