A US man who shared a "hilarious" story of a shocking message on his wife's sandwich was using an image that was posted two years ago.

Robert Wilson Barnes shared an image of the sandwich with what appeared to be the word 'bitch' on it, with an accompanying story on Facebook last week. Barnes wrote that it was a miscommunication after his wife "ordered a BLT with cheese," in a post which racked up over 100,000 likes and 75,000 shares.
Multiple outlets - including Newshub - ran with Barnes' post, including the Daily Mail, Metro UK and LadBible (now deleted).
However, a Reddit post emerged showing the image was at least two years old.
"I just wanted a BLT with cheese, not judgement," the caption reads.
The Sun and The Scottish Sun published a similar story in July this year, however this time it was a UK mother who allegedly received the sandwich.
