Girl Guide biscuits about to hit supermarket shelves

Fans of Girl Guide biscuits can rejoice - they're coming back to New Zealand.

The biscuits were discontinued earlier in 2019, after more than 60 years of sales.

But the biscuits are set to be reintroduced - with Countdown and Griffin's teaming up to bring them to supermarket shelves.

"Griffin's has been partnering with GirlGuiding NZ for more than 60 years and we're delighted to help keep this iconic tradition alive," says Griffin's managing director, Dan Gilbert.

One dollar from every $3.50 pack will be donated to GirlGuiding NZ, to help support the work they do every day to empower Kiwi girls and young women.

"We're so grateful for the support from Griffin's and Countdown for allowing us to be able to bring back our iconic Guide biscuits in a way that gives maximises benefit for our members," says GirlGuiding NZ's CEO Susan Coleman.

"Our girls can now focus on receiving amazing experiences that develop their confidence and skills, with the added advantage that funds raised from the biscuit sales will support our programme development and delivery. It's a win-win situation."

The biscuits will be available at Countdown, SuperValue and FreshChoice stores nationwide from Monday October 7.

But it's best to be in quick - they're only here until stocks last.
