Vegan woman calls police on friends after they feed her chicken nuggets as a 'prank'

A vegan woman says she's reported her friends to the police after they fed her chicken nuggets as a "prank" while she was drunk at a party.

The anonymous 24-year-old woman, appearing to be from the US, recounted the tale on Reddit under the username 'Veganthrowaway'.

"I have not eaten meat since I was roughly three to four years old when I found out where meat comes from," the woman wrote, adding "there were a lot of tears".

She explained that earlier in the week she was at a party where she got "white girl wasted".

"My friends thought it would be funny to feed me chicken nuggets as a prank. I checked with them before chowing down 'are these vegan?' To which my friends replied, "yeah, they're Sunfed'."

Sunfed is a brand of vegan-friendly fake chicken.

"They tasted off to me, but I figured it was just because I was drunk.

"I was wrong."

The woman says the following day, her sister warned her to check her friend's Snapchat story.

"The story was them showing the nugget packaging, and then showing them giving them to me… then later them mocking me and pretending to be me when I found out I ate meat… things like fake crying and yelling 'the CHICKENS!'"

The woman says she took a screen recording of the video and gave it to the police, on the grounds of food tampering.

"Now three of my (ex) friends are facing charges."

Commenters on the post were supportive of the women, with one person writing, "I'm impressed and think this is awesome".

"You're not the asshole - you don't f**k with other people's food," wrote another.

However, others thought she was taking it too far.

"You're pressing charges over chicken nuggets. You have a moral stance against meat. That's fine. But it's not a life-threatening allergy," pointed out one person.

"Don't be friends with them but Jesus Christ, the police? That's pretty pathetic," wrote another.
