Australian man scoffs down KFC at vegan protest in Sydney

An Australian man has been filmed gnawing on fried chicken as a counter protest, near a vegan protest in Sydney last week.

Tiktok user KenJake Lamar published the video online, in which spectators laugh as the man stands and eats KFC close to blindfolded vegans protesting the meat industry.

"Meat eating protest in Sydney gets a hungry visitor," Lamar captioned the video, along with the hashtags #KFC and #yum.

The clip has quickly amassed over 2.4 million views and 250,000 likes on the social media platform, with thousands of comments praising and condemning the move.

"I'm not vegetarian or anything but like you're just being childish," said one commenter.

"Why do people make fun of people that love animals?" asked another.

Others exclaimed "heroes don't always fly" and "not all heroes wear capes".

The vegan protest was set up by activist group Cube of Truth and took place outside the Sydney Town Hall at 3pm.

Televisions played footage at the event which organisers hoped "revealed the realities of Australian animal agriculture and facilitated engagement with the public through vegan outreach".

Some of KenJake Lamar's other videos also feature KFC being eaten by both humans and dogs.
