The coronavirus pandemic has forced businesses across the country to close with thousands of cafes and restaurants left without an income.

To combat this several Wellington cafes have come up with a genius way to make some cash by releasing an online cookbook.

"Many of us are currently unable to trade under the umbrella of 'Essential Service' and have been forced to close our doors," reads a post on the Pandemic Plan website.

"This has not stopped us doing what we have always done: cooked. Baked. Shared our knowledge with each other and our community."

The Pandemic Plan contains 85 different recipes from 16 Wellington businesses for people to cook at homes during the lockdown and after.

"Though we've created the book for those looking for inspiration from their much loved local businesses in a time of self-isolation, we hope that you enjoy these recipes and use them again and again," reads the website.

The PDF book is available online to purchase for what you can afford but the recommended base price is $10.

All proceeds raised by the online cookbook will be split between its contributors.
