How to redefine your motivation

Dreydon Sobanja is children's picture book author who has now taken on the challenge of a book of NZ athlete biographies about New Zealand runners. 

His new book The Kiwi Runners' Family Tree is out next week.

But he has his own inspiring story too.

Being a competitive runner at school and was well on his way to success when depression struck in his thirties. 

After giving up binge drinking and losing more than 20kg, Dreydon refocused his attention on his athletic dreams.  

He took up competitive triathlon and created publishing company Inspired Kids, writing books to inspire our kids to dream big. 

He spoke to The AM Show.
