Auckland foodies prepare yourselves: Celebrity chef Josh Emett has announced he's opening a brand new restaurant "from scratch" in Auckland's CBD.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, the former Masterchef judge revealed his new establishment Onslow is set to open next month in the International Building on Princes Street - "an address steeped in history".

"[It's] my first start from scratch, sole venture with my wife Helen," Emett captained the post.

It appears the restaurant will be a fine-dining establishment, with Emett adding: "Onslow redefines the classic, where impeccable service, delicious food and timeless style are the order of the day".

The Kiwi chef is the owner of several well-known establishments across the country, including Auckland stalwarts Ostro and Ortolana, and Malaysian-fusion chain eateries Madam Woo and Hawker and Roll.

Fans of Emett will know his wife Helen as the camerawoman and director for his at-home cooking demonstrations, featured on his Instagram stories over lockdown.
