Kmart wicker 'native foliage' wreath under urgent recall due to risk to native plants

A Kmart wicker wreath designed to be hung on doors and walls during the festive season is under urgent recall after it was realised the treatment given to the materials was "ineffective"

According to a recall notice issued on Tuesday by MBIE, the 'wicker wreath with native foliage and berries' could potentially pose a risk Aotearoa's native flora.

"The treatment given to this product has been determined to have been ineffective and it may contain unwanted organisms that could affect plants native to the country," the notice reads. 

The wreath as reportedly sold at Kmart stores around the country between 26 September to 27 November.

Customers who have bought the wreath should "should cease using these products immediately and return the products to any Kmart store in New Zealand for a full refund".
