A US husband has proven that no good deed goes unpunished, after attempting to help his wife out by tackling the task of washing her makeup brushes while she was at work - at her job as a makeup artist.
But in order to save time, the man, known as Kevin decided to put all the brushes in the cutlery compartment of his dishwasher, which he later called a "lapse in judgement".
The terrible and costly results were revealed in a video posted to his TikTok channel, with many of the brushes mangled and bristles falling out.
"What a terrible mistake", Kevin wrote in the video.
A panicked Kevin turned to his followers for help, asking "Guys….How do I fix this in the next 20 minutes?"
The video has been viewed over 6 million times, with commenters revealing ways to fix the problem
"A $500 gift card to Sephora or Ulta with a bottle of wine or a massage," wrote one woman.
"Either take her to Ulta and replace them all, or leave them on the counter, pack and never return," offered another.
Others thought there was no coming back from the mistake.
"Oh you woke up this morning and chose death," one person joked.
"Your wallet is about to hurt sir," wrote another.
"I audibly gasped," revealed another.
Kevin later posted an update, revealing he was "still alive"
"Not quite sure how long that’s going to last though," he added.
"‘I do know how to wash makeup brushes but when you have a two-year-old running around the house, you try to look for shortcuts."
